Profile
The cultivation of Hami melon in China has a long history of nearly two thousand years, originating from Xinjiang during the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty. The planting areas are mainly concentrated in the three major basins of Turpan, Tarim, and Junggar in Xinjiang, as well as the Hami region. Planting is also carried out in the Hexi Corridor of Gansu, Hainan, and Dehong and Xishuangbanna in Yunnan. With the advancement of agricultural technology, the application of technologies such as greenhouse cultivation, intelligent irrigation, and biological control of pests and diseases has significantly improved yield and quality.

Environment
Hami melon is a warm loving crop, with a suitable growth temperature of 25-30 ℃ , and the optimal temperature for fruit growth is 30-35 OC . It requires sufficient sunlight and a large temperature difference between day and night, making it suitable for planting in loose sandy loam soil or sandy loam soil with pH 7.5-8.5 and light clay loam soil.
Technology
Sowing propagation is commonly used, and seed germination treatment is required. During the planting process, sufficient base fertilizer should be applied, reasonable topdressing should be done, irrigation should be paid attention to, water should be controlled, and diseases and pests should be prevented and controlled in a timely manner.
